Feeling sorry for ourselves Feeling sorry for ourselves is not an effective way to gain sympathy from others.
While others may be concerned by our negative demeanour and ask whether we're ok, we run the risk of losing their tolerance when they discover we're feeling sorry for ourselves.
Rather than feeling sorry for yourself and thinking about what you haven't got, think about what you need to do to get it, and ask for help if necessary.
People are far more tolerant of us and willing to help when we look as though we're trying to help ourselves.
Wallowing in self pity will only drive them away.
